About Me:
My name is Jim Demick. I have had a passion for drawing since childhood. I took art classes throughout my K-12 education and I am a graduate of The Art Instruction Schools in Minneapolis, MN. I draw as a hobby, and I also do freelance and custom work.
My specialty is portraits. I use several shades of drawing pencils to create my art work. I work best from good-quality, clear photographs. I can combine people from several photographs into one portrait collage. In order to maintain clarity and details, the size of the portrait may have to be larger to accomodate the number of subjects. The smallest size I do is 11x14 and I can go as large as poster size.
Custom portraits make a unique wedding, birthday, or Christmas gift! I can draw people, pets, cars, motorcycles, just about anything. I can also do bereavement drawings to honor your lost loved ones.

I draw from clear photographs - not from live subjects. I can use people from different photos combined in the same drawing (meaning they don’t all have to be together in one photo for me to put them together in a drawing). When you purchase custom work, you get the original drawing, not a print. My drawings are done in pencil, and sprayed to protect them from smudging, however they should be handled carefully since they can still smudge. Framing your original custom drawing is recommended.
